Overcoming
educational poverty together

We can only tackle educational poverty with as little bureaucracy as possible if we work together. No one - neither local authorities, the state, job centres nor foundations - can do it alone. This is why the Possehl Foundation has been involved in the Lübeck Education Fund foundation network for over ten years.

Straightfoward and easily accessible

We are proud that Lübeck has succeeded in pooling its strengths and expertise under one roof. Thanks to the Lübeck Education Fund, kindergartens and schools can provide better support for children of low-income parents. The Education Fund helps by financing lunches, school materials, music and sports programmes and class excursions; since April 2011 the Education Fund has been topped up by benefits from the education and participation funding package. Together with the Job Centre, the City of Lübeck has been able to establish an uncomplicated framework, which ensures above all that children and young people receive support quickly and unbureaucratically. Where the education and participation package does not apply, the Education Fund continues to step in.
