Possehl Foundation
Prizes
Because our founder was particularly keen to support young talents, the foundation now awards annual prizes for outstanding achievements to students at the Lübeck College of Music and Lübeck University of Technology. Two Possehl Prizes for Art focus on contemporary artists.
Possehl Prizes for Art
The Possehl Prizes for Art, which have been awarded since 2018, focus on outstanding international and local positions and strengthen the Hanseatic City of Lübeck as a location for contemporary art. The Possehl Prize for Lübeck Art gives local artists the opportunity to realise a project, while the Possehl Prize for International Art, which has been awarded since 2019, is accompanied by prize money and the organisation of an exhibition in Lübeck.
