The Foundation’s Board consists of 19 people. Emil Possehl stipulated that it should consist of "members of the Senate, the civil service, merchants, the clergy, teachers, lawyers and the members of other liberal professions." Even at the present time, representatives of the professions named by Emil Possehl work on the Foundation Board on an honorary basis. To the outside world, the Possehl Foundation is represented by its Chairman and his Deputy. The six-member Working Committee manages the "ongoing business" of the Foundation, discusses applications and submits decision proposals to the Foundation Board. Both then and now, Working Committee and Board meetings take place once a month. Our Board members are involved in numerous working groups, juries and visits to the sponsored institutions.
